Spring Festival is a traditional festival of all ethnic groups in China. More than 100 years ago, the folk artist "baiben Zhang" wrote in his book: "in the first month, families celebrate the new year, Lantern Festival, the moon is round, flower boxes are everywhere, firecrackers are noisy, which makes people travel all over the streets." A vivid picture of the Spring Festival at the beginning of the year.
It is said that there was such a festival in China during the Yao and Shun dynasties. In the oracle inscriptions of the Yin and Shang Dynasties, there were also records about the Spring Festival. There was a custom to celebrate the first spring festival. But at that time, it was difficult to determine whether the calendar was accurate. In the first yuan year of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty in 104 B.C., the Chinese people created the first lunar calendar, which clearly stipulated that the first lunar month was the first year of the year Since then, the custom of the lunar new year has been popular for more than 2000 years. Until the founding of new China, the festival was changed to the Spring Festival after A.D.
In the oldest written records in China, there are many stories about the beginning of the year. The last month and the new spring are just the slack seasons after the "autumn harvest and winter storage". Zheng Xuan of Han Dynasty also said that at the beginning of the year, "farming for rest". Take our words today, it means combining work with rest.
So how does spring festival come? It's said that a long time ago, there was a young man named Wan Nian who saw that the festivals were very disordered and wanted to set them. One day, he went up the mountain to cut firewood and sat under the shade to rest. The movement of the tree shadow inspired him. He designed a sundial for measuring the time of the sun shadow. However, it was cloudy, rainy and foggy, which affected the measurement. Later, the dripping spring on the cliff attracted his interest. He started to make a five layer leaky pot again, which lasted for a long time. He found that the length of the day would be repeated every three hundred and sixty days.
At that time, the king was called Zuyi. He was troubled by the unpredictable weather. A minister named ah Heng, in order to please the emperor, said to set up a heaven platform to worship the God of heaven. Zu Yi thought it was reasonable, so he led all officials to sacrifice to the heaven, but it did not help. After ten thousand years of knowing it, he couldn't help but take a sundial and a leaky pot to see the emperor and explain to Zu Yi the truth of the sun and moon running. After listening to Zuyi, Longyan is very happy and feels reasonable. So he left ten thousand years, built a sun moon Pavilion in front of the temple of heaven, built a sundial platform and a leaky pot Pavilion, and sent twelve children's clothes to wait for ten thousand years. Zu Yi said to ten thousand years, "I hope you can measure the law of the sun and the moon, calculate the exact morning and evening time, and create a calendar, so as to benefit the people all over the world."
Once, zub sent for aheng to learn about the progress of calendar testing in ten thousand years. When he went to the sun and moon altar, he saw some words written on the stone wall beside the temple of heaven. When aheng saw it, he knew that the calendar of ten thousand years had been successfully studied. He was afraid that the emperor would reuse him. He sent people to kill him in Japan. The fruit assassin was caught by the Shiwei. Zub punished aheng and went to the sun and moon pavilion to see him Ten thousand years, ten thousand years pointed to the sky and said to Zu B, "now it's exactly 12 months, the old year is over, and the new spring is coming back. Pray for the king to set a festival." Zuyi said, "spring is called the Spring Festival."
From winter to spring, year after year, after long-term observation and careful calculation, the accurate solar calendar was established. Later, in order to commemorate the achievements of million years, the sun day was named "perpetual calendar" and named "Wannian" as the sun, moon and birthday star. Later, people hung the birthday star map during the new year, which is said to commemorate million years.
Now we also have some customs for the new year, such as sticking the word "Fu" upside down, setting off firecrackers and greeting the new year.
